Bell River Thoroughbreds are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Equine Husbandry Technician to join our team.

Duties will include:

  • providing essential daily care, assisting in raising livestock through monitoring, and operational support for horses in various settings
  • performing additional Husbandry tasks involved in raising foals and yearlings, including but not limited to tasks like feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls etc
  • Assisting with breeding programs, which may include controlled breeding experiments, artificial insemination, pregnancy testing, lactation management, , and maintaining health records
  • monitoring young horse health and behavior, reporting issues, and maintaining facilities, equipment, and health records to ensure the welfare and smooth operation of an equine facility.
  • Other animal husbandry work as required.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Equine Science or similar
  • At least 1 year of full time experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work on a roster working 1 in every 3 weekends
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
