Sims Metal have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Maintenance Fitter - Fixed Plant to join our VIC maintenance team, based in Brooklyn.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, and day to day repairs on our fixed plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on fixed plant equipment, including hammermill shredders, conveyor systems, balers, and metal sortersWork to a daily maintenance plan and complete all relevant documentationRespond to and assist with equipment breakdownsContribute to continuous improvement initiativesFollow all safety, environmental, and quality protocols

About You:

Trade qualified Fitter & Turner, with experience in conveyors, motors, and gearboxesConfident in general weldingHold a current driver's licenseHands-on experience in a similar heavy industrial or metal processing environmentStrong diagnostic and repair skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal
