About Balonne Shire:
The Balonne Shire is located along the beautiful Balonne River, just five hours' drive west of Brisbane on the QLD-NSW border. Balonne Shire Council has a dedicated team of 110+ staff and population of 4,500 people who live in the surrounding towns of St George, Thallon, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Nindigully, Mungindi and Hebel.
About the Position:
The RMPC Labourer is responsible for carrying out labouring works on road and street construction and maintenance projects throughout the Shire. Assignment to works crews is at the discretion of the Manager Roads Construction and Maintenance, determined by operational requirements.
About you (selection criteria):
- Current MR Class drivers licence
- White Card – general safety induction
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position
- Ability to work regularly from camps away from depots / home
- Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised, meet demanding deadlines and deliver high quality outcomes
- Demonstrable customer service and communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with people in a culturally diverse environment
- Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience in road construction and maintenance, in similar positions
