We are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Bob Hawke College opened in February 2020 to more than 250 Year 7 students and is the first high density public secondary college in Western Australia. Our pastoral care approach has been specifically designed to support young adults. The Role
As a member of the English team, you will ideally be an open collaborator and supportive of the English department's team teaching strategy. You will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. Applicants should be curious about student learning and be willing to support students, including in a self-paced environment. They should be comfortable with the use of IT, including Teams and OneNote.

Applicants should have the ability to teach secondary English including 7-10, General English, ATAR English, Literature and/or English as Additional Language and/or Dialect (EAL/D) and be knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum and upper school courses. Suitable applicants should be able to deliver a differentiated curriculum which meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. Applicants should ideally be a teacher who aspires for academic excellence and is committed to high quality teaching and learning.

The desired applicants will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which would be used to develop and promote the school's values, ethos and priorities. Applicants should be able to build positive relationships with students and be passionate about their progress and potential. You will ideally be committed to the development of student agency and display genuine care for all students.
