Resolve Recruit is partnering with a leading Commonwealth Government agency to find an exceptional User Experience Designer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale digital modernisation initiatives, creating accessible and intuitive interfaces that align with the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions that balance user needs with government policy requirements, whilst championing accessibility and inclusive design practices.

As a User Experience Designer, you will lead the design of user-centred interfaces for government systems and platforms. You'll conduct comprehensive user research, develop wireframes and prototypes and ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. Working closely with developers, delivery managers and stakeholders, you'll advocate for design excellence whilst maintaining compliance with government design frameworks. This position provides the chance to improve how citizens interact with essential government services through thoughtful, evidence-based design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design user-centred interfaces for government systems.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
  • Develop user journeys, personas and experience maps.

Ensure all UI/UX designs comply with the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard.

  • Work with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
  • Advocate for user-centred design principles.

Key Experience and Skills:

  • Proven UI/UX design expertise with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred design outcomes in complex environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Axure RP and other recognised platforms.
  • Understanding of government policy frameworks and design standards.
