About the Role

As our Café Coordinator, you'll manage the daily operations of our welcoming café, providing light meals and snacks to residents, families, staff, and visitors. You'll enjoy a supportive, community-focused environment where your hospitality skills make a real difference in the lives of older people—while still being there for your own family.

Shifts are scheduled during the day, with minimal evening or weekend work—ideal for parents with school-aged children.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the café's daily operations, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and friendly environment.
  • Prepare and serve light meals and snacks, considering the needs of our residents.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and manage stock and deliveries.
  • Lead and support a small team of staff and volunteers.
  • Deliver warm, person-centred customer service.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain menu quality.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and aged care standards.

Why Join Us?

  • Family-friendly hours—work that fits around school drop-off and pick-up.
  • Supportive team—be part of a caring, community-minded workplace.
  • Make a difference—help create a welcoming space for residents and their families.
  • Ongoing training—develop your skills in a rewarding sector.

About You

  • Experience in café operations or hospitality (aged care experience a plus, but not essential).
  • Food Safety knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Friendly, reliable, and empathetic—especially towards older people.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to wear a uniform and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role (desirable).
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Clear National Police Check (renewed every 3 years).
  • Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
