The Fresh Produce business is crucial to the delivery of our company wide purpose which is to sustainably feed all Australians and help them lead healthier, happier lives. Innovations in product, technology, supply chain systems and store formats are all enablers for the future growth of the Fresh Produce business.

Reporting to the Category Manager you will be supported in your career growth and serve as a conduit between Coles and our supply chain. You'll use your strategic skills to decide who our growing partners will be over the coming years in our Herb & Mushrooms category where you can visit our local farmers.

From grassroots farms to private suppliers, you will partner with the best growers all over Australia to secure stock, negotiate prices, and build out our commitment to quality for our customers.

You'll also:

• Drive results and performance of your categories
• Work cross-functionally across Marketing, Operations, Transformation and Strategy
• Execute our customer-centric strategy for your categories to shape a legacy for the future
• Drive innovation within the category, working closely with the broader Coles Merchandise team
• Build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, using your negotiation and influencing skills to drive the direction of the category

In this role you will be able to utilise your experience in understanding market share gaps and helping to develop and implement a market leading plan across this portfolio. Well-developed stakeholder management skills will be key to the success of this role.

You will also have:

• Demonstrated Category buyer and/or Merchandise experience within a retail environment.
• Outstanding influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment.
• Proven ability to champion and drive change and continuous improvement.
• Strong commercial acumen
• Customer first approach
