About the role

Dadaru pty ltd is seeking experienced Transhipment crane operators and Dozer operators to join our team at Cockatoo Island in Yampi Sound. You will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery within our Transhipment operations. This is a casual position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Transhipment operations using ship deck cranes to unload floating dumb barges

  • Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently to move and position materials, equipment, and supplies as required

  • Dozer operating on floating dumb barges loaded with iron ore, maintaining stockpile while unloading barge

  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment

  • Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation related to crane operations

  • Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of yourself and your colleagues

  • Collaborate with the wider team to optimise workflow and minimise downtime

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Crane Operator in a mining or industrial setting, with a strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and best practices

  • Valid crane operator's licence and certification, with the ability to operate a variety of crane types

  • Experience Dozer operators with valid tickets and certification

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from various departments
