Gourmet Poultry is hiring a Trades Assistant with Forklift Licence

Are you a reliable and skilled trades assistant with a valid forklift licence, looking for a stable, casual role? Gourmet Poultry is a leading name in the poultry processing industry, and we are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated team member to join our processing facility in Cavan.

About the role

In this key position, you will be a vital part of our production team, providing essential support to tradespeople and assisting with general factory operations. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role where your forklift and trades assistant experience will be highly valued.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating a forklift (LF licence essential) to safely load, unload, and transport materials and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks, workshop duties, and general labouring as required.
  • Supporting the production flow by moving raw materials and finished goods to designated areas.
  • Performing general warehouse duties, including manual handling and organising equipment.
  • Adhering to strict food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.

What you'll bring

  • A current and valid Australian drivers' licence and forklift licence (LF).
  • Proven experience as a trades assistant or in a similar industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the poultry or meat processing industry is highly regarded.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality assurance.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in cold, fast-paced processing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full Australian work rights.
