The Opportunity
Our Hazmat WA business unit is currently building a significant portfolio of work and growing rapidly. We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from hazmat professionals interested in executing and overseeing project work for our clients across WA.

As a Hazmat Consultant You Will

  • Conduct surveys, inspections or assist in managing the completion of surveys and inspections for the presence of asbestos or hazardous materials building materials.
  • Conduct or manage completion of asbestos airborne fibre sampling, in accordance with relevant standards or guidance documents.
  • Undertake visual clearance inspections following asbestos remediation.
  • Manage asbestos remediation projects for our clients.
  • Write technical reports and developing asbestos registers, management plans and technical scopes.
  • Assist Senior Consultants and Team Leads in the management of large-scale HazMat projects.

About You

If you are currently based outside Australia and interested in this role, you will be able to demonstrate at least three years of relevant work experience in hazardous materials. An undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

To Be Successful In This Role You

  • Have at least two (2) years' and up to five years' experience as an asbestos surveyor
  • Are a Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA)
  • Relevant qualifications such as IP401 -Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples (PLM) & IP402 - Surveying for ACM in Buildings
  • Other IP certifications and W/M 504 certifications will be highly regarded
  • Hold a current manual driver's licence to drive in WA.

  • Have a high attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on the task in hand.
  • Have a highly organised approach and great at planning work activities.
  • Are flexible with working arrangements, as site travel, often to remote client sites, is a regular part of the role.
  • Are willing to learn and to act as a guide/mentor to less experienced members of our Hazmat team.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to engage with and contribute to a growing dynamic team with effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
