Primary objective Drawing on own in-depth professional Information Communications and Technology (ICT) expertise to lead a team

of ICT professionals to ensure client-focussed services are delivered to NTPS agencies and employees.

Context statement ICT services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally

diverse environment. The Service Delivery unit provides a range of ICT support services to enhance agencies' effective operation of digital

environments, ensuring alignment of ICT strategy in accordance with whole of Government policies and standards. The position operates

in a centralised, outsourced ICT environment that may require occasional out-of-hours work.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with client agency decision makers and managers to gain an understanding of their ICT

needs, and assist with the development, implementation and review of ICT practices.

2. Provide expert advice to agencies and employees to enable prompt and effective identification of issues and lead the development

of solutions to mitigate risk or resolve client agency issues.

3. Lead and manage a team of ICT personnel and effectively drive the delivery of high quality client focused services.

4. Provide high quality strategic advice and information to influence business planning and development.

5. Lead a range of strategic ICT projects that support consistent ICT delivery across the NTPS.

  1. Apply high level influencing and representational skills to ensure compliance with legislation, agency policies and delegations and

contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement in ICT practices at a whole of sector level.

7. Manage the relationship between ICT service providers and agencies.

8. Respond to situations that may arise outside of normal business hours.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Substantial experience operating as a senior ICT professional providing strategic and operational ICT advice and recommendations to

senior management, stakeholders and other clients.

2. Strong working knowledge and experience with building and sustaining relationships in a customer focused outsourced environment.

  1. Highly developed strategic, conceptual, analytical skills, including the ability to interpret legislation.

  2. Well developed conceptual, problem solving and negotiation skills, with the capability to exercise sound judgement and anticipate

future consequences and trends.

5. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and encourage teams with differing roles and skill levels to perform to a high

standard.

  1. Demonstrated capability in monitoring and reporting of service performance and the ability to identify opportunities for continuous

improvement.

7. Excellent knowledge relating to the methodology, systems and procedures across the broad spectrum of ICT disciplines, and an

understanding of contemporary trends and practices in ICT management.

  1. High level oral and written communication skills, reinforced by demonstrated client liaison, influencing, and mediation skills to

communicate effectively across diverse audiences and levels.

9. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to Service, Innovation, Ethical Practice,

Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect.

1. Qualifications and/or certifications relevant to ICT or a related field.
