About the Role

As Bar Manager, you will take full ownership of the operations of our licensed bar within Kyah Hotel. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a proactive professional with a passion for hospitality, strong operational knowledge, and the ability to inspire a team.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day bar operations, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations, and delivering outstanding service to guests. Beyond the daily operations, you will also play a strategic role in developing drink menus, coordinating events, managing supplier relationships, and driving promotions to enhance the bar's profile.

Your leadership will directly influence customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the growth of the venue's reputation as one of the Blue Mountains' most exciting hospitality destinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the bar, equipment, and facilities are compliant with liquor licensing, food safety, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Supervising security arrangements, crowd controllers (where required), and ensuring the venue operates safely for staff and patrons.
  • Selecting, training, rostering, and supervising bar and support staff, while ensuring staff conduct complies with licensing laws.
  • Overseeing financial operations including budgeting, purchasing, and daily reconciliation of accounts and transactions.
  • Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction, handling complaints, and providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Developing marketing initiatives, promotions, and partnerships to increase business visibility and revenue.
  • Liaising with entertainers, arranging live performances, and promoting local events to attract customers.

· Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.

Key Skills and Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 years of proven experience in bar management or hospitality leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of liquor licensing, food safety, and WHS regulations.

  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and ability to promote the venue through local partnerships and events.

Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Alternatively, significant hands-on experience in bar management may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
  • Additional certifications in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), food safety, or WHS will be regarded.
