Production Operator

Master Butchers Co-Operative Ltd (MBL) is a diverse business with three locations and over 130 employees.  The MBL operations are divided up into a number of trading departments and divisions, and they are MBL Food Service, MBL Machinery and MBL Proteins. MBL is a leader in packaging, food ingredients and equipment supply to the food industry. The MBL machinery division supplies an extensive range of food processing equipment and machinery specialising in butchers' machinery.

The MBL Proteins section of the business is seeking a full time Production Operator for its facility in Keith 5267, South Australia.

The salary offered is $68,864 per annum plus superannuation.

Duties and responsibilities

The work involves operating machinery and processing of animal by-products with the use of rendering equipment. The Production Operator would undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

• Utilise rendering equipment to process livestock by-product materials for the production of tallow, grease, blood meal, and high-protein bone meal.
• Using production equipment to dry the concentrated protein and ground the product for distribution.
• Operating production machinery, including calibrating equipment to monitoring gauges, making adjustments as required for the production of tallow, grease, blood meal, bone meal and other products.
• Inspect finished products, take samples and undertake product quality control; and
• Prepare products for dispatch.

The applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• At least 2 years full time prior experience in the meat production industry
• An ability to assess and prioritise maintenance, repair and servicing where required.
• Attention to detail in supervision of operations.
