About the role

Our four-year Apprenticeship Program gives you the hands-on training and guidance from experienced tradespeople and a Nationally Accredited Trade Certificate through a Registered Training Organisation. As part of our program, you'll receive necessary tools, TAFE accommodation and additional support if required.

The roster is 7 days on/ 7 days off- Dayshift only

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of Northparkes' Mobile Equipment Fleet through routine maintenance and quarterly inspections.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting with inspecting and testing electrical systems and components
• Assist with breakdowns and planned maintenance on loader automation systems
• Diagnose faults and repair mobile plant air conditioning systems
• Learning to diagnose faults in mobile mining equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs under supervision
• Supporting the installation of wiring, lighting, and control systems
• Maintaining workshop housekeeping and safety standards
• Attending TAFE and completing formal training requirements
• Committing to maintaining health, safety and security standards
• Ensuring the Underground Mobile Equipment workshops and its equipment is maintained in guidance with the site's high level of housekeeping
• Assisting Mobile Equipment Mechanics with skills learnt through your studies and role-based training
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe, professional and efficient manner
• Committing to maintaining health, safety, and security standards and principles
• Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining values

About you

You should be a curious and hands-on individual with a genuine interest in Automotive & Mechanical repairs. You have completed or are completing Year 12, and hold a current Driver's Licence. You are eager to learn, work safely, and contribute to a team that values excellence and respect. You can communicate clearly, follow instructions well, and are comfortable using basic digital tools. Whether through school, hobbies, or personal projects, you've shown initiative and a can-do attitude. You're ready to take on challenges, grow your skills, and build a rewarding career in mining with Evolution.
