Our company specialises in the mixing and filling of Aerosol and Liquid products for use in personal care, therapeutic, industrial and household categories for the domestic and export market.

About the Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Microbiologist to join the team on day shift.

Responsibilities

·       Read and record results, prepare customer reports.

·       Take action for out of specification results

·       Prepare status reports and summary reports for testing performed

·       Perform water testing and environmental monitoring

·       Follow up on corrective actions

·       Assist the Plant Microbiologist in validations and report writing.

·       Prepare media and equipment for microbiological tests

·       Perform clerical duties and maintain records

·       Maintain laboratory in a clean and tidy condition

·       Dispose of biological waste tested samples and used culture media bottles as per required safety procedures

·       Perform testing preparation on raw materials, finished products and some processes

·       Ensure the lab is stocked to an appropriate level for the testing being performed.

·       Ensure equipment is maintained to appropriate standards

·       Review products for C&S requirements where required.

·       Carry out special projects and any other duties as directed by the Plant Microbiologist

Requirements

·       Tertiary qualification in Microbiology or a related Science discipline

·       Previous microbiology experience within a manufacturing environment

·       Understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements

·       Time management skills, the ability to multitask.

·       Available to do overtime if required

·       Excellent communication skills; both written and oral

·       Be passionate, resourceful and innovative.

·       High Attention to detail is extremely crucial.
