About the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the
Deputy CFO
is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Group. You'll ensure robust financial reporting, compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations, and deliver high-quality financial planning, forecasting, and analysis. This role is central to supporting strategic decision-making and driving operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare accurate management accounts and financial statements
• Maintain general ledger integrity and financial systems
• Support CFO with board reporting and presentations

Compliance & Regulatory

• Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, FBT, income tax, and other obligations
• Manage ASIC and Corporations Act requirements
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators

Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic reforecasts
• Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance recommendations
• Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor a small finance team
• Foster a high-performance culture with ongoing development
• Allocate tasks and monitor team deliverables

Process Improvement

• Champion automation and system enhancements
• Implement best practices in finance operations and internal controls

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or CA qualification (mandatory)
• Minimum 15 years' experience in financial management, ideally in insurance or regulated industries
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems (Excel, Xero, MYOB, or similar ERP)
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach
