Payroll Specialist for an established company in Sydney's south-west

They are seeking a payroll officer on a temp-to-perm basis, with the chance to evolve into a permanent role.

Your new role

In this role, you will:

  • Administer and reconcile payroll operations across entities, locations, and employment categories.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll functions, including month-end activities and financial reconciliations.
  • Accurately interpret and implement conditions outlined in Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to all legislative obligations related to tax, superannuation, and statutory reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and operational teams to address payroll-related enquiries and maintain data accuracy.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of payroll systems and workflows through ongoing process improvements.
  • Uphold strict standards for data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance in all payroll tasks.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business operations and strategic goals.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a high-volume environment, including EoM tasks
  • Great knowledge of large payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of relevant payroll legislation and application
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
