TP Human Capital is currently recruiting a casual Underground Trainer & Assessor to support a major gold/copper mining operation in North West Queensland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated training professional to deliver high-quality learning and assessment programs across surface and underground mining operations. An immediate start is possible, providing the onboarding process is completed quickly.
About the Role
Reporting to the site training and operational leadership teams, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing training across a range of mining activities, ensuring compliance with both internal and RTO standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver training across surface and underground operations, including mobile plant, mining procedures, emergency response, and site compliance requirements
- Conduct assessments in line with RTO and internal standards to ensure competencies are demonstrated and maintained
- Maintain and update training records in systems such as INX InTuition (experience preferred)
- Coordinate Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with Supervisors, Superintendents, and operational leadership
- Support onboarding, refresher training, and Verification of Competency (VOC) programs
- Assist in the development of training packages, learning materials, and assessment tools
- Work with the HST team to ensure training aligns with SHMS and regulatory requirements
- Support emergency response training where required (desirable)
Job Requirements:
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
- Experience working in underground mining operations
- Open Manual Driver's License
- Right to work in Australia
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and site inductions
Additionally, ideal candidate will have:
- Experience delivering and assessing training in underground and surface mining environments
- Strong understanding of RTO compliance and assessment requirements
- Competent in maintaining and updating training records in digital systems
- Ability to coordinate with operational teams and contribute to a positive safety and training culture
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work FIFO on an 8/6 roster from Townsville
