Pinaroo Roma Inc. Aged Care Facility is situated in Roma, Queensland and is currently seeking an enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified chef to join our team.

Roster: 76 hrs. per fortnight over various days and hours including weekends and public holidays as rostered, for all meal service.

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Supervise a busy kitchen

· Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate stock and stock controls

· Ability to plan and manage a food service budget

· Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the meal area

· Menu planning in accordance with resident care plans and meal requirements in conjunction with Dietician review

· Staff rostering

· Maintain and update current policies and procedures for the catering department

· Work effectively as a team while enforcing quality and hygiene standards

· Ability to supervise, train and mentor catering staff members

· Keep food at optimal temperatures during all stages of cooking and storage.

To be successful in the role you will need possess.

· Strong WH&S awareness

· Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Supervisor certificate are essential.

· 3 years of work experience as a Chef

· Experience in menu planning and cooking for large numbers of people

· Experience in meal planning and cooking for the elderly would be an advantage

· Ability to communicate with various stakeholders

· Efficient in the use of computers including programs such as excel, word, outlook, and internet.

· Previous experience in a similar position, preferably within Aged Care

· It is essential that your communication skills are excellent and that you have strong commitment and dedication to your career and a passion for food

· Ability to pass a police check

Salary: $75,000 superannuation
