This firm delivers complete project lifecycles — from concept design and system modelling through to commissioning support — and partners with Tier-1 contractors and utilities across the eastern seaboard.
The Role
As an Electrical Draftsperson / Modeller, you'll provide high-quality drafting and documentation support to senior electrical and I&C engineers.
You'll be involved in complex infrastructure design packages covering switchboards, MCCs, PLC panels, and power distribution systems — ensuring documentation accuracy and multidisciplinary coordination across civil, mechanical, and process teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain detailed AutoCAD and/or Revit drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Coordinate models and drawings across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Translate engineer mark-ups and design inputs into accurate, constructible documentation.
- Maintain project drawing standards, document registers, and revision control.
- Support electrical and I&C teams with loop diagrams, I/O lists, and panel layouts.
- Ensure all documentation complies with AS/NZS 3000, AS 61439, AS 61508/11, and relevant utility standards.
About You
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Drafting / Engineering Technology (or similar).
- 3 – 5 years' experience in electrical drafting or modelling roles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or EPLAN (advantageous).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage drawing deliverables to deadlines.
- Understanding of LV/HV power systems, instrumentation, or control panel design.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Prior experience in infrastructure, water, wastewater, utilities, or industrial projects will be highly regarded.
