Electrical Draftsperson – Infrastructure

Full-time | Permanent | NSW-based Engineering Consultancy

The Company

Join a long-standing Australian engineering consultancy specialising in electrical, instrumentation & controls design for major infrastructure, water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.

This firm delivers complete project lifecycles — from concept design and system modelling through to commissioning support — and partners with Tier-1 contractors and utilities across the eastern seaboard.

The Role

As an Electrical Draftsperson / Modeller, you'll provide high-quality drafting and documentation support to senior electrical and I&C engineers.

You'll be involved in complex infrastructure design packages covering switchboards, MCCs, PLC panels, and power distribution systems — ensuring documentation accuracy and multidisciplinary coordination across civil, mechanical, and process teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and maintain detailed AutoCAD and/or Revit drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.
  • Coordinate models and drawings across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Translate engineer mark-ups and design inputs into accurate, constructible documentation.
  • Maintain project drawing standards, document registers, and revision control.
  • Support electrical and I&C teams with loop diagrams, I/O lists, and panel layouts.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with AS/NZS 3000, AS 61439, AS 61508/11, and relevant utility standards.

About You
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Drafting / Engineering Technology (or similar).
  • 3 – 5 years' experience in electrical drafting or modelling roles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or EPLAN (advantageous).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage drawing deliverables to deadlines.
  • Understanding of LV/HV power systems, instrumentation, or control panel design.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Prior experience in infrastructure, water, wastewater, utilities, or industrial projects will be highly regarded.
