A leading not-for-profit healthcare organisation is seeking a permanent Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join their team. This role is open to candidates based in Sydney and Canberra. You will support the delivery of the organisation's cybersecurity function across GRC and operational areas. This is a mission-critical business, truly impacting peoples' lives.

Your new role

You will bring a solid foundation in cybersecurity, balancing policy support, technical coordination, and frontline security operations in a role that is both technical and strategic. You will use your experience to help shape and deliver key cyber strategies, whilst also overseeing and mentoring junior cyber staff.

  • Maintaining and aligning cybersecurity framework with NIST, ISO 27001, and ACSC E8
  • Supporting cyber policy reviews, exceptions management, and policy compliance reporting
  • Triaging security alerts, phishing emails, and vulnerabilities
  • Assisting with forensic analysis, logs, and tool tuning (SIEM, EDR, Mimecast)
  • Conducting or supporting security assessments and compliance audits

What you'll need to succeed

You will have extensive cybersecurity experience across technical and governance areas.

  • Strong working knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, ACSC Essential Eight, and risk management frameworks
  • Experience with identity and access management (e.g., Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC)
  • Proficiency in cloud security and tools such as SIEM, EDR, MFA, and vulnerability scanners
  • Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, government, or finance
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, SSCP) are highly desirable.
