The PositionNeuroMoves by Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is excited to offer a Team Leader Position at our St Peters clinic. We are seeking a highly motivated Physiotherapist, looking to take the next step in their career, who feels ready to lead a small team of Physiotherapists & Exercise Physiologists.

This role receives strong support from our Management team, and is an appealing combination of both operational and clinical responsibilities. We are looking for someone with neuro specific experience, who has a passion to work for a for-purpose, client centred, goal orientated organisation. 

The current team leader is moving back home overseas and currently manages a team of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists. There is currently 5 (and growing) direct reports. The role supports and assists a growing team of mixed-experienced staff in the delivery of progressive exercise programs and therapy for the neurological population, with state of the art equipment and facilities.

The Team Leader role involves:

  • Leading a team to deliver exceptional quality therapy in the community setting to clients with neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, MS, Parkinson's Disease, Cerebral Palsy etc
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team of clinicians with varying levels of experience.
  • Oversee day to day operational duties and have responsibility for on-site staff and student welfare
  • Coordinate the scheduling of staff and clients
  • Responding to client enquiries and intakes
  • Support clinical research activities

The OrganisationSpinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is a member-based, national, for purpose organisation that promotes independence and provides services to people with a spinal cord injury and other neurological disabilities. SCIA's NeuroMoves provides a suite of exercise services for people with a spinal cord injury, neurological conditions or other physical disability. NeuroMoves is a client centred, goal orientated service working in the community-based rehab space that offers the opportunity for people to improve their functional capacity, acquire new skills, prevent secondary health complications, increase their independence and overall health in a welcoming and motivating environment.

NeuroMoves has several clinics across Australia with a team made up of 60+ Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Therapy Assists nationally. NeuroMoves offers state of the art facilities and access to specialist equipment and knowledge to facilitate recovery, and provide accessible exercise environments for Neurological and Spinal Cord Injury populations.

About you:

  • At least 2 years experience working with neuro population is preferred
  • An interest in growing established neuro clinics and business development
  • Ideally some experience in leading small teams of clinicians and ready for the next step into a longer term leadership position
  • An ability to encourage and support staff and clients with an empathic, positive approach
  • Exceptional written, administration, organisation and time management skills
  • Passionate about working with the neuro population

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven clinical experience with excellent clinical reasoning skills (3+ years' experience preferred)
  • Drivers licence
  • CPR + first Aid accreditation
  • Working with Children's Check and National Police Check
  • Experience and / or knowledge of National Disability Insurance Scheme
