Our client is a leader in next-generation, smart composite materials and is at the forefront of innovation in the manufacturing sector. As they experience rapid expansion, they are looking for an Electrical Draftsperson to join their dynamic team in Canning Vale, W.A.

Position Overview

This role involves creating detailed electrical 2D and 3D technical drawings and models for projects in engineering, and manufacturing using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Key responsibilities include converting sketches into precise drawings, collaborating with engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and updating drawings as needed. The role requires strong technical skills in both electrical engineering CAD drafting and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure accuracy and the successful realisation of objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and modify electrical drawings including SLDs, schematics, and control diagrams.

• Collaborating with engineers, objective leads and managers to understand design specifications and requirements.
• Revising and updating drawings, based on feedback and objective changes.
• Ensuring that drawings comply with industry standards, regulations and guidelines.
• Assisting in the preparation of project documentation and reports.
• Reviewing and interpreting sketches, layouts, and specifications.
• Generate 2D and 3D models and drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks software.
• Organise and maintain drawing files and documentation.
• Coordinate with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency in drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate design changes and updates.
• Meet project deadlines and timelines for drawing submissions.
• Stay updated on CAD software updates and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering qualification.
• CAD Drafting qualification.

Desirable

• Proven experience as an Electrical Draftsperson (preferably within the power generation, mining, oil & gas sector).
• Strong knowledge of CAD and understanding of electrical schematics, SLDs and control systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
