Responsibilities:

Electrical Installation & Maintenance

  • Install and connect electrical wiring, panels, switchboards, and automated control systems for poultry housing and equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical components and systems including motors, sensors, fans, lighting, alarms, and controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical systems efficiently and safely.

Project Site Support

  • Work alongside project engineers and site supervisors to execute electrical works according to installation drawings and project timelines.
  • Assist with commissioning of newly installed systems and ensure all components operate to specification.
  • Report any electrical issues that may impact project schedules or system performance.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with the Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000 – Wiring Rules) and relevant state licensing requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures while working on-site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain safety records related to electrical work.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete job sheets, inspection reports, and compliance certificates for electrical work carried out.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report work progress or incidents to supervisors.

Technical Support & Coordination

  • Provide technical advice to farm operators on electrical system usage and safety.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors for components and service coordination.
  • Occasionally support customer training on automated equipment operation and emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Valid Electrical License in Australia (e.g., State Electrical License or unrestricted A-grade license)
  • Familiar or intermediate knowledge regarding RJ45/Lan networks and IP allocations
  • Proven experience in industrial or agricultural electrical systems (experience in poultry or livestock farms preferred)
  • Understanding of automation, sensors, PLCs, and low-voltage control systems
  • Familiarity with poultry systems such as feeders, lighting, ventilation, and climate controllers
  • Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong safety mindset and working knowledge of WHS policies
  • Flexibility to travel and work at various farm/project locations
  • White Card (Construction Induction) – Required for site access
