Optical Worker

Our Essilor production team in Silverwater is dedicated to manufacturing high-quality optical lenses, carefully crafting each order with precision and attention to detail to meet the exact specifications and unique needs of every patient.

We currently have a position available for an Optical Mechanic or Optical Worker. We're also open to candidates who have an interest in becoming an Optical Mechanic and are ready to learn. This role is ideal for someone with strong fine motor skills and a keen eye for detail, who is eager to learn and develop into a skilled Optical Mechanic.

Your responsibilities

• Is responsible for the health & safety of themselves and collaborators by respecting safety regulations and staying vigilant at all times.
• Executes production in line with defined group standards: operates machines as described in SOPs, asks supervisors for help when needed and respects organisations and production flow rules.
• Contributes to labs performance with regards to quality, costs and service by being aware of their results compared to expected ones.
• Optimises required machines' capacities by knowing expected throughputs of machine and contributes to actions to improve use of installed machines.
• Follows staffing plans and adjustments and is willing to develop their competencies on various work spots.
• Is attentive to production machines and assets by understanding how operated machines work and by maintaining them  to make sure they function properly.

About you

• Experience in manual handling (role required to safely lift up to 20kg on occasion)
• Fine motor skills and ability to handle individual lenses carefully throughout the Rx process
• High attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, proactive, enthusiastic
