About Cancer Services
Palliative Care Services at Austin Health are part of the division of Medical and Cancer Services. This includes General Medicine as well as specialist medical services. Palliative Care sits in the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre, which also provides medical oncology, clinical haematology, radiation oncology and wellness and supportive care programs, with strong links to the surgical oncology units.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Research Centre (ONJ Centre) is committed to the wellbeing of people affected by cancer through health, education and research. The ONJ Centre is part of, and situated on, the campus of the Austin Hospital. The ONJ Centre provides comprehensive cancer treatment services, including wellness and supportive care programs. Austin Health sees around 3000 new cancer patients annually. The majority of cancer services are provided within the ONJ Centre which houses one of Australia's largest cancer clinical trials centre.
About the role
Palliative Care Physicians are expected to provide high level specialist palliative medicine services to patients at Austin Health within their approved scope of clinical practice and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a Fellowship of the Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM)
- Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Palliative Care
- Have experience in community and hospital palliative care services.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum, and
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and research.
