About the role
The Senior Mental Health Clinician is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team responsible for coordinating the recovery of people experiencing or at risk of developing severe and complex mental health disorders. The position provides expert mental health clinical services in collaboration with consumers, carers and other care providers, using an integrated and family centred approach, while demonstrating advanced clinical practice.
In this role, you will lead, in an environment of constant change, to improve the quality and efficiency of clinical services and the patient/client experience. You will be working with consumers who may be experiencing high levels of distress, grief, anger and anxiety.
The WNSWLHD Youth Drug & Alcohol program is an assertive outreach service that will provide youth focused responses and treatment options. The program works with those aged 12-25 experiencing issues with alcohol and other drug use, and their families/carers. The program aims to reduce harm by taking a multi-disciplinary and evidence-based approach. This program will focus on a holistic, trauma–informed, culturally safe and responsive service delivery model.
A role in the alcohol and other drugs sector offers mentally stimulating work and provides a high level of autonomy and empowerment. You'll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual's needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person's journey to support the young person and their family.
You'll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support. We are the team enriching health in millions of ways every day. We listen to understand, not label. We are an inclusive and committed team where staff are encouraged to bring their whole self to work. We are a team as diverse as the vibrant communities we support.
