Swimming Teacher

We are seeking NEW Swimming Teachers to join our Learn to Swim program located across 2 locations in Toorak and Armadale for AFTER SCHOOL and WEEKEND work, ready to commence in Term 3.

We currently require teachers on Wednesday and Thursday from 3-6pm and Saturday from 1.30pm to 6pm but other shifts may become available.

You will be responsible for instructing children aged years old in our Learn to Swim programs, focusing on water safety and stroke development producing swimmers with a high standard of technical excellence.

Lessons are held throughout the school term with public holidays, school holidays and long weekends OFF. Holiday Intensives are additional and optional.

To be successful in the role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Current AUSTSWIM qualification in Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or industry equivalent.

• Current CPR qualifications and WWCC (employee). First Aid qualifications are looked upon favourably, but not essential.

• You have experience in instructing Learn to Swim programs and delivering skill specific lesson plans OR you have completed your course and looking to complete your voluntary hours with a view to ongoing employment.

• Excellent English and communication skills and ability to demonstrate a variety of aquatic skills to children of all abilities

• A fun, outgoing personality and able to engage kids

• Committed to our program with reliability and punctuality highly valued

• Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills

• Demonstrated willingness to participate in industry training and professional development courses

• Are coachable and willing to take on board feedback, ideas and suggestions

• Able to work as part of a team for the benefit of the program and under the guidance of the on deck Supervisor.

• Demonstrate reliability and ongoing commitment to our program.

Essential Requirements

• Current CPR

• Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety / Swim Australia Teacher/Austswim or equivalent.

• Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check

Desirable Criteria

• First Aid Certificate

• Any Austswim or Swim Australia extension course.

• Pool Lifeguard Award
