We are growing our business and looking for new talent to join our team. You will be joining a supportive team of approximately fifteen staff. We are passionate about our work, always learning and exploring new ideas, while delivering quality outcomes to our government and private sector clients.

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience. For those with more experience and whose skills stand out, the starting salary for this position could exceed $140,000.

ABOUT THE JOB

The primary responsibilities as a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer will include:

  • Working collaboratively with others to develop designs
  • Leading design development and documentation of civil works for tender and construction
  • Managing projects including client liaison, invoicing, variations
  • Managing project teams including resourcing, scheduling and budgets
  • Managing subconsultants to ensure integrated and co-ordinated design outcomes
  • Undertaking technical analysis, modelling and design development
  • Preparing reports and supporting documents including written and graphic communication material
  • Mentoring and upskilling junior team members
  • Working proactively with the Directors of Civille
  • Providing support with proposals and bids

The position is an office based role.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our team, who shares our passion for excellent urban and environmental design. The position will suit an engineer looking to take the next step in their career, who enjoys working in a small, multi-disciplinary team and is interested in working on a wide range of design projects including green infrastructure, WSUD, waterway restoration, active transport, and civil design for public open space.

Candidates should demonstrate the following knowledge:

  • Bachelor of engineering (civil or environmental) with honours.
  • 5-10 years' work experience in professional engineering design services, in civil/urban design, stormwater drainage/treatment, or similar.
  • Interest in blue-green infrastructure, creative and high-quality urban design.

Candidates should demonstrate the following skills:

  • Applied software skills in AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, modelling, MS Office. Experience with earthworks modelling in Civil 3D will be highly regarded.
  • Experience producing drawing packages for construction.
  • Experience applying relevant standards and technical guidelines in design.
  • Experience with technical analysis/modelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates should demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Ability to manage projects, staff, and subconsultants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which means working adaptively and collaboratively across boundaries.
  • Organised, able to work to budgets and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
