About the Role

Transport Refrigeration Services (TRS) is seeking a Service Technician to join our Huntingwood team. Initial days will be spent in the workshop working within a supportive group to service, diagnose, repair, and occasionally install transport refrigeration systems.

Once diagnostic skills are demonstrated, opportunities to progress into field service work may be available.

This role suits a qualified tradesperson from the automotive industry or someone with air-conditioning/refrigeration experience looking to expand their skillset. TRS provides full factory training through Thermo King, as well as formal training (e.g., working at heights, ARC licensing).

You will be responsible for delivering work to TRS' high standards, maintaining a safe and productive workspace, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on transport refrigeration systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and refrigeration issues accurately and efficiently
  • Undertake occasional refrigeration unit installations
  • Ensure all work meets TRS and Thermo King quality standards
  • Follow all WHS, environmental, and industry compliance requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
  • Accurately complete service and repair documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the service team and support other branch functions as required
What We're Looking For

A technician who brings technical aptitude, reliability, and genuine willingness to learn. While experience with refrigeration or diesel systems is highly regarded, full training is available for those with strong mechanical foundations.

Skills & Experience
  • Qualified automotive tradesperson (light or heavy vehicle mechanic, auto electrician, plant mechanic, etc.) OR qualification/experience in refrigeration or air-conditioning
  • ARC licence advantageous (TRS will support obtaining one)
  • Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently
  • Understanding of safe work practices and WHS standards
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Current driver's licence preferred
  • Personal hand tools and gauges (tool allowance provided)
