Micway Transport is a trusted leader in the cold-chain logistics industry, specialising in the safe and efficient transport of temperature-sensitive products across Sydney Metro. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Night Shift Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the end-to-end management of our night operations.
This is a key leadership role supporting our commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
About the Role
Working 9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of night operational activities, ensuring our fleet, drivers, and warehouse teams perform to Micways high standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining temperature integrity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction throughout the night shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily night operations including fleet coordination, load planning, scheduling, and driver management.
- Maintain strict control and compliance of temperature-sensitive freight across chilled and frozen supply chains.
- Provide strong leadership, support, and guidance to drivers, warehouse staff, and night operational teams.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure seamless supply chain flow.
- Ensure adherence to WHS requirements, NHVR compliance, and company policies.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, delays, temperature breaches, or operational issues.
- Manage communication with customers and resolve any service concerns in real time.
- Monitor performance, complete nightly reporting, and escalate issues where required.
- Utilise Micways TMS and other digital tools to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and operational visibility.
- Maintain a focus on cost management without compromising service or compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Heavy Vehicle Licence - MC preferred
- Proven experience in transport, logistics, or cold-chain operations (essential).
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage night-shift teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and proactive during high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of HACCP, load restraint, NHVR requirements, and cold-chain compliance (highly regarded).
- HACCP training and TLIF0006 accreditation are desirable but not mandatory.
