VENN MILNER ACCOUNTING SERVICES is a Chartered Accounting practice specializing in tax, accounting and business services, which has been operating since We are based in Blackburn. We are a small team that work in an open and collaborative manner with a client focus in all that we do. Our clients operate in a wide range of industries doing some very diverse activities, which creates a dynamic and interesting work environment for our team.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Full Time Intermediate/Senior Accountant to join our team.  Part time and/or flexible hours considered for the right candidate.

This is an ideal office-based role for a someone looking for a positive and supportive environment, with great learning opportunities, in which to further their career.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Superannuation Funds from client sourced data
  • Reconciliation and analysis of client sourced data
  • Completion of Business Activity Statements
  • Exposure to Div 7A, FBT, CGT, Div 293, Payroll, Franking accounts and some international transactions, to list a few
  • Working closely with a diverse group of mentors

Successful candidate preferred skills and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related field with 2+ years experience gained within an Australian public practice and have/or are embarking on your CA or CPA qualification
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient in using Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong work ethic, with a client focused and team orientated mindset
  • Be willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Pride yourself on your attention to detail
  • Are motivated and keen to progress
  • You must have unrestricted right to work in Australia
