Motor Mechanic

We are a well-established and reputable automotive service centre located in the heart of Blackburn. We specialise in vehicle maintenance, mechanical repairs, and tyre solutions for a wide range of makes and models. We are now looking for a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and road safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across engine, transmission, braking, steering, cooling, and exhaust systems using both manual techniques and advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out tyre-related services including fitting, rotating, balancing, and repairing tyres, as well as performing wheel alignments using modern alignment systems.
• Inspect and repair suspension systems, shock absorbers, and undercarriage components to ensure safe and smooth vehicle handling.
• Test and replace faulty electrical components such as alternators, starter motors, batteries, and sensors.
• Advise customers and team members on repair needs, estimated costs, and timelines in a clear and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history in our workshop management system.
• Operate all equipment and tools in a safe, responsible manner and maintain a clean and organised workshop.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years' full-time experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic is essential.
• Relevant trade qualifications
• Proven, hands-on experience with a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, including European and Asian brands.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new automotive technologies and repair methods.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
