About the role:
We are seeking Carpenters at our Olympic Dam site to work in our site crew to carry out general carpentry works and other related duties safely, to quality and time specification and standards and assist in other areas as required. Successful candidates will provide Carpentry support and expertise to other trades and workgroups.
This role is offered as a DIDO role, working on a 13:8 roster.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensure all Carpentry works comply with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances and other relevant codes and standards
- Ability to understand / read drawings and specification to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
- Preparing layouts, cutting materials and assembling parts
- Erecting framework and roof framing
- Nailing fascias panels, sheathing roofs and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
- Repair and maintain existing timber/materials/fittings
- Undertake 1st and 2nd fix carpentry requirements
- Complete Formwork Installation
- Execute work in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure works comply with all WHS requirements
- Ensure materials, labour, plant and equipment are used as effectively and efficiently as possible
- Provide and maintain a full tool kit to enable effective execution of duties
- Ensure all administrative functions are performed with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner
- Operate vehicles, plant and equipment in a proper manner
Undertake all other reasonable tasks and duties within your skill and ability, as directed
Skills & Experience:
- Trade qualification – Carpentry trade
- Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts on a 13:8 roster
- Proficient in maintenance and general building in residential, commercial and industrial environments
- Working at Heights
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Construction Induction (Whitecard)
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Class C drivers license
- Willingness to work at other Ahrens Group locations if required
Holding additional high-risk tickets and licenses will be beneficial
