The opportunity

Join our dynamic Data & Analytics team as a Data Science Specialist, where you'll drive innovation across the insurance domain by transforming business challenges into analytical solutions.
The purpose of this role is to leverage advanced analytical and machine learning expertise to develop, refine, and communicate data-driven insights and solutions

Your new role

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and refine analytical use cases aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Lead diverse projects across underwriting, claims, and risk, translating business needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Interrogate complex datasets and models to formulate, test, and iterate hypotheses rapidly.
  • Present insights through clear visualisations and storytelling to influence decision-making.
  • Provide expert guidance on machine learning techniques and tools to uplift team capability.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore analytics teams, ensuring and delivery excellence.
  • Uphold compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Share reusable practices and contribute to the broader analytics community.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience producing insights from large datasets utilising state of the art techniques such as Machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python expected, experience in R, Spark, and other programming environments also valuable.
  • Comfortable working in Linux, Databricks and Azure cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Tertiary degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics).
  • Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
