Smile On Clinics, with established practices in Taree and Tuncurry, is seeking enthusiastic Receptionist/ Dental Assistant to join our growing team.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist / Dental Assistant (combined role) – a dynamic position that offers both patient-facing and clinical responsibilities. You'll be the friendly face who welcomes patients, manages appointments, and keeps the day running smoothly, while also providing hands-on clinical support to our dentists to ensure every patient receives high-quality, comfortable care.

Essential Criteria – Dental Receptionist / Dental Assistant (Combined Role)

Patient Care & Communication

• Warm, professional interpersonal skills with a strong patient-care focus

• Ability to manage enquiries, appointments, and follow-ups with empathy and efficiency

• Compassionate approach to patient care and ability to ensure comfort throughout treatment

• Proven ability to make patients feel valued, supported, and at ease

Clinical & Administrative Excellence

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or working towards completion/not essential)

• Strong chairside assisting skills with high infection-control standards

• Experience in reception and administration, ideally in a dental or healthcare setting

• Proficiency in scheduling systems, patient record management, and payment handling

• Accurate clinical note-keeping, stock control, and practice support

Compliance, Safety & Quality

• Understanding of WHS, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards

• Awareness of privacy, confidentiality, and accurate record-keeping obligations

• Commitment to following practice policies and accreditation requirements

Teamwork, Initiative & Professional Growth

• Collaborative team player who works effectively with dentists, hygienists, and colleagues

• Willingness to mentor and support junior staff

• Strong organisation, time-management, and problem-solving skills

• Commitment to continuous training and professional development
