We're seeking an experienced and technically adept Mechatronics Engineer to join our Product Development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on end-to-end automation projects — from concept and design through to integration, commissioning, and global deployment — within a compact, highly skilled engineering group. About the Role
As a Mechatronics Engineer at Modra, you will:
- Design and integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems for Modra's automated machinery.
- Develop and maintain control software using C# and Python, and program Beckhoff PLCs (TwinCAT 2/3).
- Conduct in-house and on-site testing, debugging, and commissioning.
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines to deliver robust, integrated solutions.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Contribute to R&D and continuous improvement initiatives across Modra's product range.
About You
You will have:
- A degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5+ years of professional (post tertiary) engineering experience in automation, mechatronics, or systems integration.
- Strong foundation across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in C# (Visual Studio) and experience with Beckhoff / TwinCAT control systems.
- Working knowledge of Python for automation, data processing, or testing.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability across multiple engineering domains.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for commissioning or client support.
