The Lady of St Kilda is a vibrant Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar nestled in the heart of St Kilda, Melbourne. Named after the ship that inspired the suburb's name, this stylish venue offers a culinary journey through the Mediterranean, featuring dishes like house-made falafel, sambousek, stone-baked pizzas, and fresh pastas. Guests can enjoy a variety of handcrafted cocktails and a selection of local and imported wines, all within a relaxed, art deco setting that boasts both indoor and outdoor seating options. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We currently seek a full-time (38hr/wk) Cook with a passion for delivering fresh and delicious food. You will be responsible for the following duties on a daily basis:

· Examining produce to ensure quality and storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

· Working with kitchen cooking equipment including regulating ovens and grills.

· Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare food on menus.

· Cooking in accordance to set and special event menus.

· Be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

· Seasoning food during cooking, portioning food, presenting food for service, and adding condiments/ sauces

· Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

· May assist with plan menus and estimating food requirements

· Be able to work under high-pressure situations

· May train other kitchen staff and apprentice

Qualifications and Skills of Cook

· AQF Cert III including minimum of 2 years' experience OR Cert IV OR

· At least 3 years' of relevant work experience

· Commitment and passion for food and quality produce.

· Excellent attention to detail.

Salary: $73,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation
