About the role:

In your role as Assistant Vice President, you will support the delivery and enhancement of the Operational Risk management Framework (ORFM) including

  • Risk & Control Self Inspection (RCSA)
  • Issue / incident management
  • Controls Assurance (CA)
  • Risk and regulatory reporting

What you'll be doing:

Your responsibilities will include -

  • Assist in the enhancement of the ORMF to ensure it keeps pace with regulatory expectations in Australia and New Zealand
  • Provide trusted advice on operational and enterprise risk management practices
  • Assist in the delivery an effective and efficient risk and control framework that aligns to the organisational risk appetite
  • Assist to drive an optimised operational risk culture within the organisation
  • Manage risk management processes to ensure all risk events have been captured, and policies and procedures remain up to date
  • Develop and deliver training and workshops to refresh risk management skills and competencies and educate staff in the in the Oceania business
  • Assist in the tracking and timely resolution of incidents and associated remediation counters measures
  • Assist in the creation of risk reporting for various risk management and executive committees
  • Support the Head of Operational Risk and the CRO as may be required
  • Cross-train to support other teams/colleagues from time to time, when required

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ year's experience working in an operational risk, enterprise risk or audit function in financial service
  • Degree qualified - undergraduate in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Law
    • Post graduate qualifications in a risk management or related discipline are desirable
  • Exposure to APRA & RBNZ (or another banking regulatory agency) regulations, practices or expectations. 
  • Good understanding of operational risk management best practice and a grounding in the Three Lines of Defence principals of risk management.
  • Extensive experience using the full MS Office suite including, Powerpoint, Excel, Work and MS Teams
  • The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
  • Well organised with demonstrated experience in effective time management, execution and accuracy
  • Has the ability to work independently and prioritise a number of tasks across various work streams and alongside a number of stakeholders
  • Exposure to projects and project management practices is advantageous
