Structural Steel Estimator

Simmonds Steel is a Landsdale based steel fabrication company. Due to expansion, a position has opened for a structural steel estimator in our new offices.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Read structural & architectural steel drawings - Commercial & residential
• Read residential house plans
• Perform Material take off & quantify
• Estimation of weights & fabrication time of steel sections
• Tender evaluation & submission
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Working with factory manager & floor supervisor
• Strong sales & negotiation skills

Key Requirements:

• Familiar with Blue Beam & Microsoft Excel
• a minimum of 5 years proficient knowledge of steel industry
• Able to Work along side fellow team members
• Auto cad skills preferable
• 3D modelling knowledge preferable
• Trade background an advantage
• Able to work on large & small scale projects
• Familiar with necessary AS standards & welding codes & procedures
