About the role

As a Home Loan Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the growth and maintenance of the BCU Bank lending portfolio and for delivering excellent personalised service to all members by providing general advice based on individual needs, following our Empower framework.

Creating, maintaining, and retaining relationships with our members by identifying their financial needs and providing them with options on a range of lending and ancillary products & services that add value to them

Responsibilities include

  • Assisting with members' financial needs through face to face, virtual and over the phone customer service using our Enrich Framework and working to resolve issues at first point of contact.
  • Identifying opportunities to promote our range of financial products to achieve sales results aligned to business KPI's/Growth and offering services to match their needs whilst building relationships for future business opportunities.
  • Proactive management of the CRM system to ensure portfolio management is successful.
  • Assisting in the development of long term mutually rewarding relationships between BCU Bank and our members and deepen advocacy.
  • Proactively connects with prospective members, and partners in the community to build strong networks and generate new sales opportunities to achieve growth in Retail Portfolio.
  • Internal and Stakeholder engagement is imperative to succeed in the role.
  • Engages in and implements retail lending and enrich initiatives, projects or new internal systems or processes as required.
  • Ensure all activities, conduct and performance comply with relevant legislation and Bank policy.
  • Proactively considers risk in day-to-day business activities and decisions.

What will you Bring?

  • Significant experience in a Banking/Financial Services environment, Home Lending and complex Lending is advantageous.
  • Proven Track record of exceeding sales and business development targets through needs-based conversations.
  • Excellent customer service managing all product inquiries and dealing with Home lending complaints and resolving at first point of contact.
  • Strong retail lending experience with the ability to identify and anticipate members needs based on their financial position, and suitability against responsible lending practices and internal credit policies.
  • Strong communication and networking skills that demonstrate the ability to grow deep relationships and problem solving
  • Proven experience with working with teams or internal and external stakeholders and achieving goals aligned to corporate KPI's and Values
  • Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of the Bank's Home Loan Products, Credit Policy and Sales framework.
  • Strong numerical reasoning
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • High level attention to detail and demonstrated risk awareness
  • Exceptional Comprehension skills
  • Computer skills – Microsoft packages and CRM systems
  • Certificate in Financial Services and Mortgage Brokering or related field, desirable.
