The Opportunity:
We have a fantastic 12 months fixed term Opportunity in the Eden/Batemans Bay region. This is an excellent opportunity for a Forest Planner, to develop and maintain strong relationships and drive continuous business improvement. The position would suit a recent graduate or mid-level professional, and is an opportunity for you to apply your environmental knowledge and technical skills to assist us with our natural resource management responsibilities.

About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Forest Planner, responsible for developing operational plans for timber harvesting and roading operations in native forests around the idyllic South Coast region of NSW. This planning role includes a great mix of field and office-based tasks and provides an opportunity to explore the forests of NSW's South Coast. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with talented people, work on a variety of tasks and develop your skills in many areas within Forestry Corporation. The successful applicant will also enthusiastically assist with ecology surveys, tactical planning, operations, and fire management/suppression activities.
We would love you to have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in forestry, natural resource management or demonstrated similar experience obtained within the last 5 years.
- Passion and interest in the natural environment and forest management.
- Experience with, or the ability to rapidly acquire skills in, the use of GIS and other technologies.
- Good attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a diverse multi-functional team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability in writing plans.
- Experience in working with tablet-based mapping will be looked upon favourably.
- Effectively balancing the day-to-day operational demands of the role.
- Capacity and willingness to undertake firefighting as required and work afterhours.
- Have a current driver's licence.
