We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable, flexible and easy-going Support Worker with a "can do" attitude to assist a young male with a spinal cord injury based in Tamworth.

You are honest, trustworthy and reliable with good work ethic and understand the importance of providing care with dignity and respect. You are self-motivated, calm, and looking to make an invaluable positive impact on the lives of others.

About the Role:

You will be working closely with our member in their own home and in the community, providing care and supports which include:

  • Personal care (including bowel care and catheter care)
  • Manual Handling (hoist transfers)
  • Medication management.
  • Assistance in the community (shopping and attending appointments)
  • Domestic tasks (bathroom, washing, mopping, vacuuming etc.)
  • Meal preparation

Commitment to this role is essential

Currently we are looking to fill shifts across all days of the week with shifts from but not limited to:

  • 7am – 9am in the mornings (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday)
  • 7pm – 11pm in the evenings (Saturday)
  • 7pm – 11pm in the evenings with a sleepover (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Extra shifts may be available to cover shifts during staff absences

Requirements:

  • Past experience with spinal cord injuries preferred
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia
  • A National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • A current Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Strong communication skills
  • Drivers License & Own vehicle
  • Must be dog friendly.

Anyone living locally in the Tamworth area with experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries would be considered highly desirable, however, reliable and compassionate applicants with a genuine interest are encouraged to apply.
