Fishing Charter Skipper Position - Top End Reel Escape

Join our team at Top End Reel Escape We're seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Skipper to join our team and lead our clients on exciting fishing adventures whilst our customers have a memorable day on the water.

About the Role:

As Skipper, you will be responsible for the safe and successful operation of our charter vessel and ensuring our clients have a memorable and enjoyable fishing experience. This includes:

• Navigation and Operation: Safely navigating the vessel, adhering to all maritime regulations, and maintaining the boat in top condition.
• Client Interaction: Providing excellent customer service, interacting with clients in a friendly and professional manner, and sharing your fishing expertise.
• Fishing Expertise: Locating productive fishing grounds, assisting clients with baiting and tackle, and offering guidance on fishing techniques.
• Safety: Ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew, conducting safety briefings, and responding effectively to emergencies.
• Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance checks on the vessel and equipment, and reporting any necessary repairs.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of trips, catches, and maintenance activities.
• Other Duties: Assisting with cleaning and preparing the vessel for charters, and performing other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Required:

• Valid and current Master (Class V) Certificate

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Extensive local knowledge of local fishing grounds, species, and fishing techniques.
• Proven experience operating charter vessels or similar vessels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred:

• Experience with blue water / reef fishing

• Previous experience in a customer service role.
