As an Apprentice Electrician at our Balmain Shipyard, you'll work alongside experienced tradespeople and supervisors, learning hands-on skills while you study for your Certificate III in Electrotechnology at TAFE.

We are opening this unique opportunity to anyone who's already on the 2nd or 3rd year of their Electrical apprenticeship.

What You'll Do

  • Work side-by-side with qualified trades and engineering supervisors
  • Learn how to maintain and repair the electrical systems on our ferries
  • Get exposure to shipbuilding, marine maintenance, and electrical repair techniques
  • Take part in problem-solving and fault-finding tasks with your mentor

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in electrical work (maybe you liked tech, science or hands-on subjects at school)
  • Someone who's curious, a problem-solver, and committed to learning
  • Good with your hands and keen to learn both at TAFE and on the job
  • A pre-apprenticeship in electrical would be a bonus but not essential
