Perth, Western Australia Sense-IT Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

We are looking for a Systems Engineer on a short-term contract to assist with critical infrastructure upgrade projects, including firewall and virtualisation enhancements.

Duration: Mid-October – End of November 2025 (potential extension to mid-December depending on project timelines).

Key Project Tasks & Technical Scope

  • Cisco FlashStack Migration
  • Migrate FC storage access from existing FlashStack hardware to new hardware platforms.
  • Cisco UCS-X & Fabric Infrastructure
  • Configure and migrate Cisco UCS-X chassis and blades via Cisco Intersight.
  • Configure Cisco Fabric Interconnects for new deployments.
  • Cisco MDS Switching
  • Integrate new Cisco MDS switches into existing SAN topology.
  • Migrate workloads and decommission legacy MDS hardware.
  • Nexus Switching
  • Support migrations requiring Nexus configuration and integration.
  • Storage & Backup
  • Configure Pure Storage connectivity and replication.
  • Deploy and integrate Cohesity backup appliances into clusters.
  • Migrate workloads and retire old Cohesity devices.
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Install and configure ESXi hosts.
  • Configure vSwitches, VLANs, datastores, and vMotion.
  • Automation & Scripting
  • Develop and use PowerShell scripts to support configuration and migration tasks.
  • OS & Platform Support
  • Windows Server and Linux system administration in support of infrastructure migrations.

Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure migrations.
  • Proven expertise with Cisco UCS, MDS, Nexus, VMware ESXi, Pure Storage, and Cohesity.
  • Strong scripting capability (PowerShell) for automation and repeatable processes.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver against project milestones.

Engagement:
Contract – October to November 2025 (possible extension to December).
