What you'll be doing…
Expressions of interest for the following roles are now open.
You will complete a Certificate III Trade qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures Host Employer, Whitehaven, at their site in Narrabri in the following trades Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
During your apprenticeship you will gain formal training as well as on-site experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
- Undertake the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of mining equipment.
- Perform additional duties as required, within the scope of the apprentice's skill set and abilities.
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated understanding of safety and safe work practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Ability to follow guidelines and directions accurately and carefully.
- Effective teamwork skills
- Commitment to the full duration of the apprenticeship and study requirements
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated interest and passion for the electrical trade and mining industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Openness to constructive feedback and willingness to apply guidance for continuous improvement
- Possession of a current driver's license or actively working towards obtaining it before the start of the apprenticeship.
- Ability to undergo an Order 43 – Mining Medical
Successful applicants will be commencing in late 2025 and are required to be based within the North Eastern region of New South Wales, as these roles are site-based.
