Help people build the skills that give freedom, dignity, and contribution
Health is about more than health care — it's about the skills, confidence, and connections that make life more wonderful.
At Primary & Community Care Services (PCCS), we believe the real measure of health is found in the everyday things: paying a bill without stress, cooking a meal with friends, finding the courage to speak up in a group, or simply stepping outside with confidence. These aren't small wins, they are the very things that make life richer, freer, and more meaningful.
We call this capability-first care: the belief that every person has untapped potential, and that our role is to help unlock it.
Why This Job Matters
Because when people gain new skills, they gain freedom.
Because health is not just about treatment, it's about belonging, contribution, and confidence.
Because potential is everywhere, and sometimes all it takes is the right coach or mentor as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist to help unlock it.
Because systems can be complex, and people need someone to simplify the journey and walk beside them.
As Manager Allied Health and Skills Development, you will
- Lead a portfolio that unites occupational therapy, psychosocial recovery coaching, low-intensity CBT, social prescribing, and psychology under one powerful ethos: skills build freedom.
- Inspire and develop a multi-disciplinary team, OTs, coaches, and contractors, creating a culture where innovation, capability, and compassion thrive.
- Keep a small but meaningful caseload yourself, walking alongside clients and modelling what "great practice" looks like.
- Partner with our education arm (RTO) and community organisations to weave training, research, and collaboration into everyday practice.
- Shape sustainable, innovative services that demonstrate nationally how capability-focused care transforms lives.
What Success Looks Like
For clients:
People feel more capable, more independent, and more confident to live the life they choose.
- Skills learned in small steps ripple out into bigger life changes.
Complex journeys are made simpler, and people feel supported, not managed.
For staff:
Teams feel inspired, supported, and cross-skilled — working together with creativity and purpose.
- Leadership feels present, grounded, and authentic.
A culture of coaching, empowerment, and excellence is lived every day.
For the organisation:
Services are financially sustainable and nationally recognised for innovation.
- PCCS is seen as a leader in skills-based allied health, coaching, and social prescribing.
- The role demonstrates that capability-first care is not just an idea, but a working model of the future of health.
About You
You're a qualified Occupational Therapist or Psychologist who:
- Thrives in leadership but stays grounded in practice.
- Believes in building people's skills, not just delivering services.
- Has experience in mental health, disability, or community wellbeing.
- Wants to shape a role that blends strategy, innovation, and hands-on practice.
Why Join Us?
- Lead a unique, nationally recognised model of care.
- Inspire and develop a team that is changing lives every day.
- Work in a culture built around capability, independence, and contribution.
- Be part of an organisation that is building the future of health and wellbeing in Australia.
Apply now if you believe that true health is found in the skills, confidence, and connections that make life more wonderful.
