Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a proactive and people-focused Supervisor – Pools, Facilities & Contract Management to oversee the safe, efficient, and community-centred operation of our aquatic and health facilities.

What You'll Do

As a Supervisor Pools, Facilities and Contract Management you will report to the Coordinator Business Services, and you'll be responsible for overseeing the operation and management of all Council-owned aquatic and health facilities. This includes supervising the delivery of high-quality, safe, and community-focused aquatic services, managing contracts and service providers, and ensuring operational standards are consistently met across the Shire.

You will work closely with seasonal and permanent staff, contractors, and key stakeholders to maintain compliance with safety regulations and drive service improvements. You'll also contribute to long-term planning, policy development, and the ongoing enhancement of aquatic facilities to meet the evolving needs of the community.

What You'll Bring

  1. Diploma qualification within Business Management, Sports and Recreation or relevant discipline with solid experience in aquatic centre operations and aquatic plant operations and maintenance.
  2. Demonstrated experience in contract management, including preparing contract documentation, overseeing tender processes, managing contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and resolving issues in line with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  3. Proven experience in the operation and management of public swimming pools or aquatic centres, including knowledge of water quality management, facility maintenance, staff supervision, risk management, and compliance with relevant health, safety, and industry regulations.
  4. Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills with internal and external customers.
  5. Demonstrated strong negotiation and mediation skills in an environment with a diverse range of complex customer enquiries and contract administration and negotiation.
  6. Demonstrated team management and development skills and the capacity to manage and mentor staff including experience in the supervision and co-ordination of aquatic facilities.
  7. Proven ability to control and implement budgets both in short and long term.
  8. Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills with internal and external customers.
  9. High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines.
  10. Hold a C Class drivers' licence, Working with Children's Check and First Aid Certificate.
