Are you a charismatic and enthusiastic individual wanting to join a friendly team?

Minchinbury Community Hospital is seeking to employ a casual Kitchen Hand/Service Assistant to join their busy department. You will work in a team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.

As part of the duties, you will handle basic duties of a Cook and your responsibilities will include:

  • Cook, deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
  • Assist in daily food preparation and meal assembly
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy environment for all food service-related areas of the hospital
  • Cleaning duties, including fridges and preparation areas, kitchen area, dish wash area
  • Clean and maintain utensils and kitchen equipment in accordance with hospital & industry food safety and hygiene standards
  • General cleaning and sanitising of all areas of food preparation areas.
  • Monitoring and recording of all relevant food safety data

Selection Criteria:

  • Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Preferable knowledge of dietary restriction and allergies
  • Ability to work autonomously, without supervision, as well as a part of a team
  • Demonstrate a great work ethic and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
  • Respectful and work well with others to achieve goals
  • Act with integrity and show care for the people you work with
  • Embrace change and seek ways to improve service

  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts – split shifts, morning/afternoon shifts & weekend work

The successful applicant will require a minimum of Food Handling Certificate, Police Check as well as a valid Working with Children Check.
